Centuries ago, humans were murdered and are now on the brink of extinction by grotesque creatures called "Giants," forcing humans to hide in fear behind massive circular walls.
What makes these giants truly terrifying is that they eat humans not out of hunger, but rather seem to enjoy it.
To ensure their survival, the remnants of humans began living within the defensive barriers, resulting in a hundred years without encountering the Giant.
However, this soft calm is soon shattered when a gigantic giant manages to break through the supposedly impregnable outer wall, igniting a struggle for survival against the man-eating giants.
After suffering greatly suffering from the attacking creatures, Eren Yeager dedicates his life to eradicating them by joining the Survey Corps, an elite military unit that fights giants outside the walls.
The story follows Eren, along with his adoptive sister, Mikasa Ackerman, and childhood friend Armin Arlert, as they join the brutal war against the Titans and together try to figure out a way to defeat them before the inner walls that are humanity's last hope are shattered.
